Just went through a transfer and learned a few things the hard way. Always verify the chassis and engine number physically against the file, confirm there are no pending token taxes, and get the seller's CNIC copy attested. If the file has a previous transfer that was never completed, it can hold everything up. Posting this so others don't repeat my mistakes — what else should buyers verify?

Get the number plate and file checked at the excise office before paying. An open case or unpaid tax becomes your problem the moment you buy.

Physically matching the chassis number to the file is non-negotiable. I almost bought a car where the file and the stamped number did not match.

Keep copies of everything and do the transfer immediately. Driving on an untransferred file for months is asking for trouble.
